GDPR in ReDat systems

The GDPR is a new legal framework of personal data protection in the European area aimed at defending, as much as possible, the rights of EU citizens against unauthorized treatment of their personal data.

GDPR in ReDat systems

The GDPR applies to all companies and institutions and also to individuals and online services that process user data. On the principle of operation, the recording system captures, records and archives communication between the company and its potential customer. The data generated during this communication is considered personal in most cases. The ReDat system responds to the new legal framework by the following measures:

  • Support of the GDPR processes (export, report, erasing of personal data)
  • Advanced logging of the data life cycle
  • Anonymization and data encryption
  • Integration into the third-party information systems
  • Customer Information Management Interface

Implementation of GDPR in ReDat System

The ReDat system enables the implementation of new business practices to correspond with the GDPR.

ReDat is based on a relational database and all data is linked in a defined way and can be easily modified by the system.

Integration into the third-party information systems

Integration into the third-party information systems

Experiences show that to accomplish the GDPR processes in ReDat system, it is necessary to add a set of information to the database of the recording system. For example, for the selective erasing according to the customer, it is necessary to add his/her ID and also the type of call because some calls cannot be deleted for legal reasons. This data completing can be realized over a wide range of integration functions.

Deliberate and necessary data protection

Deliberate and necessary data protection

Security is possible through the anonymization or through a strong encryption. Each option has its pros and cons. The ReDat system supports both options and depends on the customer preferences which one is selected.

Advanced logging, for instance of the dispute

Advanced logging, for instance of the dispute

The ReDat system creates both, the system logs mapping the data life cycle and the logs related to the user activities. This information can be passed to the superior logging systems of the customer (e.g. SIEM, IAM...).

The Implementation of GDPR regulation is at its beginning, and the future judicatures and following processes of companies will demonstrate the need of new approaches and functions. The ReDat system will always follow these needs and respond appropriately.

What the GDPR brings?
  • Equal law enforcement throughout the EU.
  • In addition to having to be thoroughly informed about their rights, people may, for example, oppose any processing of data, and in that case the controller will not be able to process the data unless there are serious and demonstrable reasons for doing so.
  • A citizen should also have access to the data that is collected about him/her. A new element is the right to erase the data and its extension to the right to be forgotten.
  • Extending of the personal data definition. Now, technical parameters like e-mails, IP addresses, or so called cookies on user´s device also belong to personal data.
  • The new category is the so called ‘Genetic and Biometric Data,’ whose processing will be subject to a stricter mode.
  • Many companies consider the reporting duty, in the case of a data security violation, as the biggest complication. The processor will now have to report a leak or threat of the personal data protection to the Office for Personal Data Protection, no later than 72 hours after the incident has been learned. In some cases, the processor will also have to inform the persons or entities whose data has been leaked.
  • The directive establishes the principle of so called accountability that obligates the administrators and data processors, regardless of their size or number of employees, to introduce technical, organizational and procedural measures to demonstrate compliance with the GDPR principles.

Loggers

Reliable recording of a broad spectrum of communication channels carried over variable, often incompatible, technologies is the basic function of the ReDat system. ReDat has loggers capable of recording voice, data and images. These make ReDat among the most universal systems of its kind.
