ReDat application guards calls in the Motol University Hospital

RETIA, a.s. has applied a large recording system installation based on Cisco technology in the biggest Czech hospital - the Motol University Hospital in Prague. Part of the supply is recording of emergency medical service radio stations. ReDat system there secures a safe, all-day recording and manages large scale of telephone calls within the hospital area. ReDat system eliminates the risk of losing important records and allows the any time access to important information from telephone calls which may be needed in case of some disputes.

The project started its operation in September 2008. Nowadays ReDat provides recording for about 120 IP phones, 10 telephone operators, and other phones of all hospital departments. Together with IP telephony central database of records, we ensure recording of 16 radio channels - radio stations and emergency medical service ambulances. Radio network in the hospital works separately as an independent telephone technology.

ReDat offers large scale of benefits: advanced and intelligent management of audio records, security of recorded calls and technological independence of recording device. All records are available any time and 100% accessible if necessary. Of course, there is a sophisticated system of access rights and there is one central data storage of records available for all hospital departments and pavilions.

About the Motol University Hospital 

The Motol Hospital is the largest medical facility in the Czech Republic. There are more than five thousand employees. The hospital campus covers an area of 39 hectares and consists of two blocks and several pavilions. Each year there are treated more than 70 000 patients.

ReDat solution

ReDat3 Recording Unitprovides recording of all telecommunication - 120 Cisco IP phones, including 10 telephone operators and telephones of different departments in the Motol University Hospital. At the same time, we record 16 channels of radio networks at emergency medical dispatch centre, ambulances and many other analogue phones. In the hospital, there are installed Cisco CallManager 6.1 and Cisco IP phones 7960.

Due to a large number of analogue phones, the VoIP converting is implemented by means of Cisco VG-224 voice gateways. Central recording of IP phones in such a large area is realized via Cisco active elements in LAN infrastructure and thanks to technologies Voice VLAN and RSPAN. ReDat Application Server (incl. ReDatCatalog module) provides a simple and comfortable work with records, record management and control.
