Record of communication in digital radio networks Tetra and Compact Tetra

With increasing usage of digital radio networks a demand for recording appeared. Recording is performed either by analogue audio output with a console or is set in network infrastructure - recording system proceeds directly the digital signal. First recording system realized by RETIA in this field was installed in TETRA network for Prague Transport Company and in Compact Tetra network for Prague airport.

Customer requires recording of all dispatch localities whereas most of the dispatchers work with a consoles of DORIS controlling system

Solution description

Two separate ways of recording are used:

  • Dispatchers working with consoles of DORIS controlling system
    • Voice communication is linked to recording system with analogue output of DORIS consoles.
    • Information on connection is received from DORIS controlling system
    • Following data are added to the recording: tram line, carriage order, tram radiostation ID, Elite console, dispatcher's workplace, call type
  • Dispatchers working with Elite consoles of Tetra system
    • Voice communication is linked to recording system with analogue output of Elite consoles. 
    • Information on communication is obtained by listening-in and processing of packets broadcasted from Customer ATIA centre - filtered by selected radio group

Prague airport - Compact Tetra

Request specifications

Customer requires monitoring and recording of entire communication within Compact Tetra network conducted by Czech Airports Authority Prague. ReDat system have already been in use for recording purposes at the level of analogue recording of dispatchers. Current recording device must be enhanced to enable monitoring and recording of communication in entire network.

Solution description

Connection of recording device will be realized at the level of E1 trunks between base stations (BTS) and "gateway PC". Current recording device will be enhanced by 2Mbit PCM interface. Input will be connected via buffer amplifier ensuring galvanic and high resistance separation. To record Tetra technology we developed processing of data structure at 2Mbit PCM interface and conversion of Tetra compression.
