E.g., the administrator supervises the recording system but he is not competent to supervise the private data of database of records. The administrator cannot get the access to private encrypted voice records. The private voice records entirely belong to a user, who makes decisions of securing data with ReDat Encryptor. Encrypting competence is defined in a user's profile. The user decides which record shall/shall not be encrypted as well as authorizes other person access to the encrypted data.

Complex system security

ReDat3 Recording Unit

Saving data on the disc is based on the principle of a circular buffer with direct access to the disc without using the file-system. Raw records are saved directly in HDD sectors. Access to recorded data is conditioned by a detailed description of proprietary form, without which the access to data would not be possible.

Connection between ReDat3 Recording Unit and ReDat Application Server is SSL encrypted. It is not possible to monitor login data as well as to monitor voice and database data. Data integrity on ReDat3 Recording Unit is secured by using check ∑ and by other proprietor mechanisms.

ReDat Application Server and workplace

Voice records are stored in a central archive of ReDat Application Server and encrypted by 256bit AES algorithm. Calculated fingerprint (hash) MD5 is stored for every voice record in ReDat Application Server SQL database. All records are secured against change or manipulation by MD5 assignment to concrete record. During playback or download, MD5 value is always checked. The error status is indicated in all displays of any discordance or incongruity.

For each record, a new symmetric key is generated. The key is saved with every encrypted voice record separately. Furthermore, the symmetric key is encrypted by the asymmetric RSA code. A private part of asymmetric key is saved outside the system - on the USB token, which is owned by a system user. The user owns access rights to access encrypted records. RETIA software enables generating asymmetric keys and a secure storage of private part of asymmetric key on the token. A hardware protection of token secures the data. Thus, the improper use and the unauthorized access to the token data is eliminated.

Connection between ReDat Application Server and workplace is encrypted by HTTPS web browser protocol.

Characteristics

ReDat StorageManager prepares all the data, which are saved, according to the preset archiving conditions. (The archiving and the file settings are the same as for automatic archiving.) ReDat StorageManager offers selecting of pre-defined filters and thus record settings according to customer specific demands. The records, which were filtered, are then copied from the on-line archive into the directory, which has its specific name. If all the records are successfully stored on a exchangeable media, the copied mp3 files are removed from the disc array. ReDat StorageManager supports DVD-RAM drives as well as Digital Audio Tapes.

The two versions of ReDat StorageManager is then divided directly according to the used exchangeable medium. Both versions are linked to valid telephone line licenses.

Version 1: ReDat StorageManager - Disc

List of records is saved in html files on DVD-RAM drives. It is possible to use more archiving drives with serial or parallel sequencing (serial = n-tuple capacity, parallel = creates a number of identical disks). Alternatively, there may run several different archiving tasks - maximum number of tasks = number of connected drives.

Version 2: ReDat StorageManager - Tape

Data is stored on Digital Audio Tapes together with metadata, which represents all items of record. Metadata enables to gain lost information, which has been previously removed from the system. The work itself is the same as in the menu Records - List of records. Data importing is divided into two parts. At the beginning, a preview of all records is imported. Then you can import all the records and record details separately. The record preview allows to quickly decide, whether the tape contains all the required data. It is also possible to use more archiving drives.
